Uncle Josh Visits South Texas

My baby brother Josh and his fabulous girlfriend Lisa
(we really like her!) came to visit us this past weekend.
We had such a great time with them!

Of course, Henry, George and Charlotte did their
best to charm the pants off of them. The kids were
big "Uncle Josh" fans, needing to know exactly where
he was at all times! I think that Lisa was pretty partial
to Charlotte...I caught her trying to smuggle Charlotte
home in her purse!

Southern Star Ranch

My father-in-law has a ranch out in Starr County (that's "way out
in the sticks" to you and me).  Whenever we have a free day on the
weekend, Michael and his dad love to head out there and check on
the cows and whatever wildlife happens to be there. The kids love to
"drive around" at the ranch because they actually get to drive around!

Henry and George usually fight to see who gets to drive "daddy's truck",
but Charlotte won this fight.  I don't know why!

Home School

From the title of this post, you probably thought that I had abandoned
any hope of sanity for myself and decided to home school my children.
Wrong! It was just such a nice day outside (and I didn't want to get up
and take the boys to school) so we stayed home. We stayed in our
pajamas until lunch and then spent the rest of the day outside
(the only place that non-washable paints are allowed)!

February In South Texas

The weather was so nice this past weekend that we got the urge to go down to South Padre Island for the day.  It was gorgeous...75 degrees and sunny!
The water was a bit chilly, but my boys didn't seem to care- they jumped right in!  Charlotte was a little more cautious and maintained a "safe" distance from the waves.

Denver Getaway

This past weekend,  Michael and I were able to take a quick jaunt to Denver, CO (sans kids)! Michael went for an orthopaedic implant course and I tagged along for the ride. It was a great chance for both of us to get out of town for a little bit of R and R.  I am always amazed at the natural beauty of Colorado- you can see the Rockies from Denver!
While I was there, I was able to spend some time with my good friend from junior high, Terri Bethel!  It was great to catch up and see her kids (who I would not have recognized on the street because they have grown soooo much)!  Terri and her husband Matt tried to convince me that Colorado is THE place to live. Although I cannot argue with that logic, south Texas is my home.

Check out the piggies!!

The day has finally arrived...Charlotte's hair is long enough for pigtails!!  However, she doesn't like for me to comment on how unbelievably cute they are.  She says "No, I not cute!"

Blogarita Bash 09'

My extremely talented friend Tyne hosted a fabulous "how to blog" party! Now I can keep my friends and family updated on the latest scoop in the Sander household. Muchas gracias Tyne! However, my computer was not cooperating today, so I had to borrow pictures from Tyne's computer to complete this post. Lucky for me, Tyne had this adorable pic of Charlotte and Audrey from Halloween night!
